Roberto Cossío represents NYBay in Spain.  A lawyer by training, he is director and partner of Cossío & Cossío S.C., a Mexican law firm with over 130 years of service in Mexico, with a legal tradition of six generations; it was founded in 1874 by Roberto's great grandfather José Lorenzo Cossío.

Roberto, who is based in Madrid, has particular expertise in banking, energy and aerospace.  He is former Counsel for Banamex and Citibank Mexico, a partner at CRES S.A., an international trading firm (among CRES representations are: Orbital Sciences Corporation; Plasser & Theurer; GE Locomotive Systems; Loral and Hammon Research Cotrell) and he is owner and founder of Desarrollos Energéticos Renovables S.A., a trader of renewable energy that is currently providing 260 MW/hour to small and medium agro-industrial companies in Mexico.

 

In the past several years, Roberto was involved in the development and closing of three major Telecommunications deals (totaling $2.5 billion), including the sale of four satellites (C3 mission for Star One, Brazil and the new Mextsat Constellation), and the Satmex acquisition by Eutelsat.

Roberto is currently involved in many real estate-related transactions in Mexico and Spain, and has therefore contributed to NYBay's growing expertise in the global real estate sector.
